Will the comeback be complete? Gut-check time for Sharks

Being down 3-0 in the Western Conference Semi-Finals to the San Jose Sharks, the Detroit Red Wings have climbed up from the deficit and have ties it up 3-3 with the game 7 being tonight. With their backs against the wall, the Red Wings have come up with dominating performances in the latter part of game 5 as well as game 6, ultimately forcing a game 7. Key performances by Pavel Datsyuk despite injury as well Henrik Zetterberg, Nick Kronwall (see great hit here) and Valtteri Filppula helped dig themselves out of that hole and gives them possibility to rewrite the history books. Could Kronwall’s Hits Lead to a Detroit Series Win?

Probably one of the best hard hitting defenceman in the NHL’s modern era, Niklas Kronwall is slowly shifting the momemtum back towards Red Wings territory one hit at a time. Just ask Sharks forwards Dany Heatley and Ryane Clowe. After game 3 where Kronwall hammered Heatley and sent him to the quiet room, Clowe said that he wanted a piece of Kronwall. Well, he got a piece all right. A piece called KRONWALLED! And it was right in front of the Sharks bench. Now Clowe, who has been a beast thourghout the playoffs for San Jose will miss game 6 tonight in Detroit with an upper-body injury. Sharks coach Todd MacLellan said that this in no way related to the Kronwall hit. We’ll reserve judgement on that. With San Jose up 3-2 in the series but having lost the last 2 games and Ryane Clowe, can they still finish off the surging Red Wings or will Detroit send this to a game 7 in the Shark tank Thursday night?
